Our History
The Southwest Florida Church of Christ was planted in September 2000 by a group of visionary disciples who gathered from different parts of Florida who had a heart for their families and the lost souls in the southwest area of Florida. Since that beginning, we have witnessed many come to Christ through faithful labor, answered prayers and the sacrificial contributions of members and resources from numerous other congregations over the years. We presently span from N Ft. Myers to Naples.
Our Mission
The Southwest Florida Church of Christ embraces the commission of Christ to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit...” From our very beginning, we have been committed to making disciples both locally and around the world. We currently contribute to financially and spiritually supporting missions in South America in conjunction with the South American Missions Society, to the Caribbean in conjunction with the Caribbean Missions Society, and to H.O.P.E. Worldwide.
Our Members
We are from every background, nationality, ethnicity, and walk of life with one commitment in common: the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We believe in celebrating and valuing cultural and ethnic diversity as we work, fellowship, share, and pray together as brothers and sisters in Christ striving to imitate the first church found in Acts 2:42.
Our Church
We meet on Saturday night, Sunday mornings, and Wednesday evenings to worship in Ft. Myers, occasionally meeting in “House Churches” and “Park Services”.
We have “Family Groups” throughout the area: Two Naples Families, Midline Family (Estero/San Carlos), Two Ft. Myers Families, Gateway-Lehigh Acres Family, Singles Family, Teen Ministry, and Campus-Young Professions.
Our Ministry Leader has been given the charge of equipping the brothers and sisters in Southwest Florida to effectively evangelize the area with the saving message of Jesus as well as helping one another to mature in Christ.
In addition to the full-time minister, we have a Family Group Leadership, consisting of spiritually mature volunteers with whom the minister consults and plans along side . We also have a Church Board who oversees the finances and legal matters of the church.
